To understand how rituals and ceremonies were the only form of theatre during this time period, we were split into two groups and were given ceremony/ ritual to act out. One group had to perform a wedding ceremony and the other group was to act out a trial. I was a part of the trial, where two earls were accused of committing treason. I was one of two peasents, who lied so that they could get some money. They told the Queen that the Earl of Essex and the Earl of South Hampton had planned on overthrowing her majesty.  I think overall we worked very well as a group; there were many good ideas and much enthusiasm. I liked how we were able to see more than one side of society as the play contained royalty, high class citizens and low class citizens. Because we had studied the time period and all it contained the week before, it was easier to understand and easier to create what we wanted to portray. The play was blocked rather well especially at the beginning, but if we had more time or managed our time more correctly we would have been able to rehearse the ending more as for me it was a bit all over the place. But over all I had a great time creating this play and had fun with everyone in the group.
